Frequently asked questions
Short answers to what people ask most, with a link to the page that has the detail.
Getting started
No. Every plan includes the AI and a monthly amount of AI usage, so you don't need an account with an AI provider. Usage beyond that comes on a separate monthly invoice. On Enterprise, a workspace can use its own cloud account instead: Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI or Amazon Bedrock. See Models and BYOK.
Anything the tools you connected can do, plus web search, documents and images. Start with something real, like "Summarize today's unread email" or "List my open Linear issues assigned to me". See Get started and Chat.
The app is in English and German. Switch under Language in the menu under your name. Stedia answers in the language set under Settings → Replies → Response language. With Match the chat it answers in the language you write in. See Your settings.
Yes, and in Discord, Google Chat and WhatsApp too. Link your account once under Slack, Teams & more, then message the Stedia bot there. If the bot never replies, it is not set up for your company yet: write to info@stedia.ai and we set it up with you. See Chat platforms.
Plans and billing
Pro and Business include a 14-day trial. A card is required to start it. For prices, see the pricing page on stedia.ai. See Billing and plans.
A member who accepted their invitation. Pending invitations cost nothing. When you remove someone, their seat stays paid until the next billing cycle, and a person you invite before then takes it at no extra cost. See Billing and plans.
The owner clicks Manage billing on the Billing page. It opens the customer portal of our payment provider, where you cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period. See Billing and plans.
While a payment is Past due, the workspace keeps working. Update the card under Manage billing. If the plan ends, the workspace pauses: new chats and scheduled runs wait, and nothing is deleted. Everything picks up again once a plan is active. See Billing and plans.
Tools and approvals
Reading runs on its own. Actions that send, create or delete something, like sending an email, show Asks first and wait for you. The exception is what you allowed yourself, in a chat or on a schedule. Each tool's page lists exactly which of its actions ask. See Chat.
Click Deny on the card, or Deny with note to tell Stedia what to do instead. Nothing that asks first runs before you click Approve. To stop Stedia while it is still working on an answer, click Stop generating. See Chat.
Some actions can be reversed for 15 minutes after they ran. The card then shows Undo and the minutes left. After that, ask Stedia to reverse it. Not every action can be undone: deleted rows in Google Sheets, for example, stay deleted. See Chat.
An admin switched it off for the workspace, or your Stedia has not set that tool up. Ask an admin. See Tools and knowledge.
For one question, attach the file in the chat with Add photos & files. To make documents searchable in every chat, an admin creates a knowledge base under Resources → Knowledge. You then switch on the Knowledge button in the chat box. See Knowledge.
Schedules
Open the schedule and check its status. Not activated yet means it still needs Test and activate. Paused means someone switched it off. After 5 failed runs in a row, Stedia disables it and emails its owner. A run is Blocked when a tool it needs was switched off, and skipped while the workspace is paused for billing. See Schedules.
Only if you allowed it. After the Test run, you choose Allow or Ask me for every action that would ask first. An action you have not allowed still asks, and the run waits until its approval timeout. What you allowed in a chat never applies to a schedule. See Schedules.
Data and security
Stedia's servers, database and stored files run in the EU. Where the AI runs is set by Region under Settings → AI settings. A new workspace starts on Global, where the provider can pick a data center outside the EU. Switch to European Union to keep AI processing in the EU; AI usage there has an additional 12% routing fee. United States is the third choice. See Security and privacy.
A deleted chat is gone for everyone in it. Files made in it stay under Resources → Files until you delete them there. Deleting the workspace deletes its data and cannot be undone. See Security and privacy.
Yes, on request. Email info@stedia.ai. See Security and privacy.
Team and admin
An owner or admin opens Settings → Members and clicks Invite. Everyone you invite joins as a Member and counts as a seat once they accept. See Members and teams.
An owner opens Settings → Members, opens the ⋯ menu on the person's row and picks a role under Change role. See Members and teams.
Yes. Anyone can click Continue with Microsoft with a work, school or personal account. On Business and Enterprise, your workspace can also verify its email domains, so colleagues who sign in with a Google Workspace or Microsoft work account join on their own. Google and email with password work for everyone. See Single sign-on.
