Custom Agents
Create an org-owned persona with locked tools and instructions, then start threads from it.
A Custom Agent is a persona your organization owns. It is not a pinned thread, not a Slack or Discord bot, and not a Cursor skill. Start the thread from the agent so every turn re-reads the same instructions and tool locks.
Open Agents.
Create one
Admins and owners create agents. Members use the ones that exist.
- Click create.
- Set Name and Icon.
- Write Instructions. Stedia applies this text as policy on every turn as this agent.
- Turn on Built-in tools you want: Web search, Image generation, Documents and slides, Code execution. They start off.
- Select Connectors the persona may use. The agent only gets tools from connectors you have connected when you send.
Save. The card shows a snippet of instructions and the tool tiles.
Open a thread
Click the agent. Stedia stamps that persona on a new thread and opens Chat.
If a locked connector is missing for you, the card says Setup required and names the connector. Click Open connectors, connect it, then open the agent again.
How a turn works
The thread keeps pointing at the persona. Each turn re-reads instructions and the locked tool set, then intersects that set with your active connections.
Change the agent later and the next turn picks up the new instructions. You do not need a new thread for a policy edit.
Empty state
If you are an admin and the list is empty, create the first agent. If you are a member, ask an admin to create one.
