Stedia

YouTube

Connect YouTube with an API key or your Google account. All actions are reads.

YouTube is under Video and media. Stedia can search YouTube and read videos, channels, playlists and comments. It never uploads, posts or changes anything.

Connect

You can sign in two ways:

  • YouTube API key: a key from your own Google Cloud project. It reads public data, and every search counts against that project's daily quota.
  • Google account: sign in with Google. If this option is missing, this install has not set the YouTube client.

With an API key

  1. In the Google Cloud Console, pick a project with the YouTube Data API v3 turned on. Go to APIs & Services → Credentials and create an API key.
  2. In Stedia, open Connected tools → YouTube → Connect.
  3. Choose Personal or Workspace. Only admins can pick Workspace.
  4. Choose YouTube API key and click Continue.
  5. Paste the key into API key and click Connect.

With your Google account

  1. Open Connected tools → YouTube → Connect.
  2. Choose Personal or Workspace.
  3. Choose Google account and click Continue to YouTube, then approve read access.

What Stedia can do

  • Search YouTube: find videos, channels or playlists by topic, channel or date.
  • Get videos: read the title, length, and view, like and comment counts of up to 50 videos at once.
  • List channel videos: list a channel's uploads, newest first, with their view counts.
  • Get channel: read a channel's description and its subscriber, video and view counts. Name it by its @handle or channel ID.
  • List playlist items: list the videos in a playlist, in playlist order.
  • List video comments: read the top-level comments on a video. Replies are not included.

Example prompts

Type one into a chat, or use it as a schedule's task.

  • "List the last 10 videos on our channel with their view counts."
  • "Summarize the comments on our latest video and list the questions people ask."
  • "Find popular videos about setting up a balcony solar panel and list the channels behind them."

Approvals

Every YouTube action is a read. Nothing on this tool asks for approval.
