Stedia

Google Sheets

Connect Google Sheets with your Google account.

Google Sheets is under Work and files. It is OAuth only. If it is missing from the catalog, this install has not set the Sheets client.

Connect

  1. Open Connected tools → Google Sheets → Connect.
  2. Choose Personal or Workspace. Only admins can pick Workspace.
  3. Click Continue to Google Sheets and approve access.

Stedia asks Google for access to your spreadsheets and nothing else in your Drive.

What Stedia can do

  • Get spreadsheet: see a spreadsheet's tabs, how big they are, and its named ranges.
  • Read cells: read the values in a range, or the formulas behind them.
  • Write cells: overwrite a range with new values or formulas.
  • Append rows: add rows below the last row that holds data, without touching anything above.
  • Clear cells: empty a range but keep the rows and their formatting.
  • Delete rows: remove whole rows, so everything below moves up.
  • Create spreadsheet: start a new spreadsheet, with named tabs if you want. It lands in your My Drive.
  • Add tab: add a tab to a spreadsheet that already exists.

Give Stedia the link to the spreadsheet, or its ID. Google Sheets on its own cannot browse your files. If Google Drive is connected too, Stedia can find a spreadsheet by name there first.

Example prompts

Type one into a chat, or use it as a schedule's task.

  • "Read the 'Orders' tab in this spreadsheet and tell me the total for September: (paste the link)"
  • "Append a row to the 'Leads' tab of the same spreadsheet: today's date, Müller GmbH, anna@example.com, Trade fair."
  • "Create a spreadsheet 'Invoice tracker' with the columns Date, Customer, Amount and Paid."

Approvals

Reading runs without a prompt: Get spreadsheet and Read cells. Everything that changes a spreadsheet asks first: create, add tab, write, append, clear and delete.

Append rows is the one write you can undo from the chat afterwards, for 15 minutes. Delete rows cannot be undone, and you cannot add it to an action preset, so it always asks.

Limits

  • One write or append takes up to 1,000 rows of up to 256 cells each.
  • A new tab can have up to 50,000 rows and 500 columns.
  • Sheets leaves out empty cells at the end of a row, so a row Stedia reads can be shorter than the range you asked for.
